Variedad de árboles. Diversity of trees

Las plantas verdes, necesitan poco para vivir, la luz del sol y el CO₂ lo captan con las hojas, el agua y los nutrientes los obtienen del suelo por lo que viven enraizadas al suelo. Al no poderse desplazar deben de estar adaptadas a las condiciones ambientales de ese lugar concreto, de lo contrario morirán y serán sustituidas por especies más adecuadas.

A las plantas y en especial a los árboles no los debemos ver como individuos, sino más bien como algo similar a una colonia, que tiene un plan de crecimiento pero que se ve modificado por las condiciones ambientales; así su aspecto nos dará información de cómo ha crecido y cómo son las condiciones del lugar en el que vive.

Green plants require few things to live and these include sun light, CO2 which they capture through leaves, and water and nutrients taken from the soil through well anchored roots. Plants cannot move and this forces them to adapt to the site environmental conditions, otherwise they would die or be replaced by better adapted species.

Plants, and particularly trees, can be better viewed as colony instead of a single individual. Trees have a developmental plan which is modified by environmental conditions, and their shape can give us information on where they have grown and on how are the site conditions they experience.
